A legacy player, Workday’s warm, energizing, and human approach to innovation wasn’t fully captured in its existing identity—and it was time to reflect that spirit.

A legacy player, Workday’s warm, energizing, and human approach to innovation wasn’t fully captured in its existing identity—and it was time to reflect that spirit.
Strategy
Like Workday, we believe the workplace should inspire and energize—that Monday mornings can motivate, and people should be able to live their work lives to the fullest. Guided by Workday’s purpose, Inspire a Brighter Workday for All, we developed a brand theme rooted in playfulness, bringing to life their mission to shape the future of work with joy and optimism.
Identity
We elevated Workday’s iconic sunrise with a redrawn logo and modern typography that balances human warmth with technical authority. The expanded design system reflects the shifts of daylight—from bright mornings to welcoming evenings—positioning Workday as the first enterprise software brand to feel genuinely optimistic. A suite of playful, office-inspired icons helps transform complex systems into something approachable, relatable, and human.
Application
The refreshed identity reimagines how Workday shows up across every touchpoint, from technical documentation to employee interfaces. Its flexibility allows for authentic expression—whether explaining SaaS architecture or celebrating workplace culture. Daylight-inspired gradients and familiar, accessible iconography create continuity across digital platforms, presentations, and physical spaces, making enterprise software feel welcoming in a way it never has before.
Outcome
Workday now stands out as the only enterprise software brand that truly balances technical sophistication with warmth and optimism. The refresh moves them beyond the cold, corporate aesthetics of the category, fostering deeper emotional connections with users while retaining C-suite credibility. Today, Workday embodies the future of work: excellence delivered with a human touch and a brighter outlook.
