Strategy

We set out to craft a more optimistic AI narrative – one where the technology feels seamless, human, and part of everyday life. Instead of magic or mysticism, Microsoft’s Copilot+PC delivers practical power with real impact: lightening workloads, boosting creativity, and brightening the day-to-day – all captured in the idea of “Illumination through AI.”

Identity

Drawing inspiration from the Copilot logo’s gradients, the identity uses light as a metaphor for AI’s power to illuminate and elevate everyday life. The palette reflects the shifting tones of natural light, typography carries a refined sheen, and the art direction channels optimism – bringing the idea of illumination to life.

Application

The identity integrates the Copilot+PC UI as a core design element. The glassy prompt language becomes a signature for Microsoft’s AI offering, while a robust motion system ensures this story is told cohesively across all touchpoints, from the product itself to OOH, retail, and social media.

Outcome

The launch of Copilot+PC marked the start of Microsoft’s next era: bringing the power of AI to everyday life, in more places and more use cases. And the identity helped signal the shift–with an identity that helps the parent brand leverage its equity as a trusted hardware pioneer, whilst also creating an expression that felt fit for an AI leader.
